We have tried to ensure that all of the the wedding events are localized to the downtown Madison area.

Travel

The closest airport is the Dane County Regional Airport (airport code MSN), which has taxi service and shuttle service to the downtown area where all the festivities will be.

Milwaukee’s Mitchell Field is approximately 90 minutes from Madison, and there is a coach service called Badger Bus that regularly runs from the airport to downtown Madison.

Chicago O’Hare airport is approximately two and a half hours from Madison. There is a coach bus called Van Galder that runs daily between O’Hare Airport and downtown Madison.

Hotel Information

Update [July 19th, 2010]: Hotel rooms in our reserved block are now gone. You may be able to reserve a room at the normal rate at the Concourse Hotel, or you may have to check other local hotels for rooms there (see below for other hotel information.)

Once rooms in the block are gone, there are two options for those traveling in from out of town:

  • If the Concourse Hotel still has rooms available, you can reserve one at the non-discounted rate.
  • You can also contact some of the hotels listed at the bottom of this page and see if they have availability for the last weekend in August.

The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor’s Club is where our reserved room block will be, as well as where we’ll be having the reception. The is underground parking at the hotel, as well as a parking garage across the street.  Call 800-356-8293 to book your room for 8/27 and 8/28 and mention you are with the Lettow/Moneypenny wedding.

There are numerous other hotels downtown that are in a variety of price ranges. The only hotel we have a block of rooms with is the Concourse, but all the hotels listed below are walking distance or just a short drive to where the wedding and reception will be.
 

  • The Madison Doubletree is between the Pres House and the Concourse– walking distance to both.  Call (608) 251-5511 for reservations.
  • The Best Western Inn-on-the-Park is located three blocks from the Concourse, on the Capitol Square. Call (800) 279-8811 for reservations.
  • The Dahlmann Campus Inn is located between the Pres House and the Concourse, and is just a block off State Street.  Call (608) 257-4391 for reservations.
  • The Hilton Madison is two blocks off the Capitol Square and overlooks Lake Monona.  Call (608) 255-5100 for reservations.
